Vietnam Desires to Boost Education Cooperation with Netherlands
Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Minh Phuc received Dutch Ambassador to Vietnam Kees van Baar in Hanoi on January 10, during which he proposed ways to boost bilateral education cooperation, state media reported.
At the talks, the Vietnamese official highlighted that the Netherlands is an attractive destination for Vietnamese students, as about 1,000 Vietnamese students are studying there. He also welcomed collaboration between the two countries’ training institutions through direct cooperation and scholarship programs.
For future cooperation, Mr. Phuc suggested the two sides strengthen the sharing and exchange of teaching experiences, the exchange of students and lecturers, while boosting cooperation in scientific research and innovation.
He also called the Dutch side to increase the number of scholarships for Vietnamese students and graduates in fields where the Netherlands has strengths.
For his part, Ambassador Kees van Baar vowed to strengthen the education and training cooperation between the two countries.
