Vietnam Dong Nai Urged to Hand over Cleared Land for EDCF-funded Project

Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has asked authorities of Vietnam’s southern province of Dong Nai to soon hand over cleared land for subproject 1A under the first phase of Tan Van-Nhon Trach road, funded by the South Korea Economic Development Co-operation Fund (EDCF).

The move is aimed to finish the construction of the subproject in April 2025, five months earlier than the initial plan.

The subproject includes the construction of Nhon Trach bridge, the second of its kind linking Dong Nai province with Ho Chi Minh City, and its approaching roads.

According to the My Thuan Project Management Board, Dong Nai province must hand over full cleared land for the subproject in February to accelerate its construction. Currently, Dong Nai province delivered just 24.4% of cleared land for the subproject.

The sub-project is aimed to build an 8.22-kilometer road, including 6.3km running through southern Dong Nai province and 1.92km via the southern economic hub of HCMC.

It has a total investment of VND6.95 trillion ($289.58 million), with $190.77 million from the EDCF. (Saigon Times)
