Vietnam Eases Contents of 10 Subjects at Secondary, High Schools

In the upcoming academic year, Vietnam will ease the learning contents of 10 subjects at secondary and high schools, per the new curriculum 2018, by streamlining over-qualified and overlapped contents, according to the Ministry of Education and Training (MoET)’s newly-issued Document 3280/BGDDT-GDTrH. The subjects are Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Information Technology, Technology, Literature, History, Geography, and Civil Education. Document 3280 also regulates the teaching and learning of high school subjects at advanced levels. For other subjects, the MoET asked schools to continue per a document in 2011. The 2020-2021 academic year is the first year that Vietnam applied new curriculum 2018. The process begins at grade 1 (first of five grades at primary schools).
