Vietnam Education Ministry to Discuss Tuition Fee Exemption for High Schools

Vietnam’s Ministry of Education and Training (MoET) will work with relevant ministries, the government, and the National Assembly on the proposal of reducing or exempting tuition fees for high schools per the socioeconomic development, the MoET answered questions from citizens of central Binh Thuan province. The MoET noted that the current legal framework has tuition fee exemption for public primary school. The ministry added that the government is planning to exempt tuition fees for secondary schools and five-year-old kids at kindergartens. Besides, Vietnam reduces tuition fees for private primary schools, per the conditions of the localities. Vietnam had 5.52 million kids at kindergartens and 17.06 million learners at primary, secondary, and high schools in the 2019-2020 academic year. (Giao Duc Thoi Dai, Giao Duc Thoi Dai)
