Vietnam Education Ministry Initiates Startup among Students

Vietnam’s Ministry of Education and Training on October 4-5 kicked off the national day of startup for school and university learners 2019 (SV-Startup 2019), featuring Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam, Minister of Education and Training Phung Xuan Nha, Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung, and 1,000 learners. Minister Nha and Deputy PM Dam hailed the participation of businesses in such event. They also urged schools and universities to focus more on this task. Besides, they hailed the government’s project on helping startups of learners until 2025 (Project 1665), which began in 2017. Besides, the event featured the final round of the second national contest on startup initiatives 2019. The contest began in June received over 300 applications and 68 advanced to the final. The first prize for university went to t on using 3D technology in manufacturing project by Hanoi University of Science and Technology and that for high schools belonged to healthcare product Nano Resveratrol by three Hanoi-based schools.
