Vietnam has not yet balanced its capital from the medium-term public investment fund in 2021-2025 to complete some items of Hanoi-Thai Nguyen expressway, funded by the Japanese government, amid a limited state budget, the Ministry of Transport said.

The ministry released the information in response to the National Assembly (NA) delegation from the northern province of Thai Nguyen on building collector roads along the expressway.

Hanoi-Thai Nguyen expressway has a total investment of more than VND8.1 trillion ($349.14 million), including VND6.1 trillion worth of official development assistance (ODA) from the Japanese government and the rest from the local government.

The expressway is designed to lengthen 61.3 kilometers and have four lanes and a speed of 100km per hour. It starts from Ninh Hiep commune, Gia Lam district, Hanoi, and ends at Km 61 + 313 on National Highway 3 in Thinh Dan ward, Thai Nguyen city. (ANTD, Lao Dong)
