Vietnam Gov’t to Allocate VND1.5T More for Land Erosion Fight in Mekong Delta

The Vietnamese government will allocate VND1.5 trillion ($64.66 million) more for the fight against land erosion in the Mekong Delta, Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh said at a meeting with voters in Vinh Long province on June 22. During the event, voters also proposed the state handle delayed projects such as Trung Luong-My Thuan and My Thuan-Can Tho expressways, promote the development of remote areas, cope with the salt drought and climate change, and upgrade the water systems in the province. Earlier in September 2019, the Vietnamese government planned to allocate VND3 trillion for the fight against land erosion in the Mekong Delta in 2019-2020, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc said.
