Vietnam Hanoi Invests VND5T in Education Facilities for New Academic Year

Vietnam’s capital city of Hanoi has invested VND5 trillion ($215.52 million) in building 70 new schools and repairing 387 schools for the new school year (2019-2020), local media reported, citing Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen Duc Chung. Mr. Chung made the statement at a conference in Hanoi on August 12 to summarize the 2018-2019 school year and to set tasks for the 2019-2020 academic year. The event featured Deputy Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Huu Do and other delegates. Mr. Chung praised the city’s effort on expanding education network with 2,713 schools, 58,422 classes, and 1.98 million students, implementing effectively the city’s policies and the organization of international integration.
