Vietnam HCMC Aims for Becoming Regional AI Hub

Vietnam’s southern metropolis of Ho Chi Minh City has set a goal to become a regional artificial intelligence (AI) hub, state media reported, citing the municipal program on AI research and development for the 2020-2030 period. It aims to make the city become a hub for AI research, implementation, and technology transfer in Vietnam and among the leading such facilities in ASEAN. To achieve the goal, HCMC will increase the number of AI small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) as well as pour capital into such field. Besides, the city will boost firms to apply AI in digital transformation and raise funds for AI firms in Vietnam.
