Vietnam HCMC Aims to Raise Talent Recruitment for Gov’t Units to 10% by 2025

Vietnam’s southern economic hub of Ho Chi Minh City has targeted to increase talent recruitment for government and state units to 10% of new recruitments by 2025, local media reported.

The HCMC People's Committee set the ambitious goal in its recently issued plan to implement the Prime Minister's decision approving the National Strategy for Attracting and Utilizing Talent until 2030, with a vision to 2050 in the city.

The city has maintained a target of talent attraction rate for government agencies, organizations, and state units at not less than 20% of the total annual number of new recruitments.

HCMC also aimed to retain 100% of recognized talent to continue working after being attracted and employed in government agencies, organizations, and state units for five years.

In December 2023, HCMC held its first-ever civil service examination for outstanding graduating students and young scientific officials after five years of implementing this policy.
