Vietnam Indicates Training Violations of Hanoi Education Department

Inspectors of Vietnam’s Ministry of Education and Training (MoET) has pointed out problems of Hanoi Department of Education and Training (DoET), including management of “international”-branded schools and issuance of diplomas and certificates, local media reported. The meeting between officials of the MoET and Hanoi DoET took place a few days after the tragic death of a pupil in Hanoi. Chief inspector of MoET Nguyen Huy Bang asked Hanoi DoET to review education institutions with “international” label, to clarify their qualities. He said that such label, within the name but not as a recognition, is misleading learners’ parents. Besides, the inspector checked 14 education institutions and worked with 2 universities in Hanoi over topic of certificate issuance. However, Hanoi DoET has shown ineffective management that led to violations. The MoET asked Hanoi DoET to make a plan of solving the problems, improving the management, and punishing the violators by August 30. (BaoDaNang, Tin Tuc, Nhan Dan, An Ninh Thu Do, thanhtra)
