Vietnam, Ireland Should Boost Education Ties: Minister

Vietnam and Ireland should boost the education-training ties, especially in education accreditation, official training, recognition of degree, cooperation between higher education units and between high schools of the two nations, Minister of Education and Training Phung Xuan Nha has proposed. Mr. Nha made the statement at a meeting in Hanoi on August 7 with departing Irish Ambassador to Vietnam Cait Moran. In reply, Ireland proposed Vietnam boost the collaboration between universities between the two nations, including the host of Vietnam-Ireland higher education conference in October, among others. Vietnam and Ireland set up the ties in 1996. The latest agreement in higher education, for courses of information technology and communications, was signed in November 2016. Ireland currently gives Vietnam 30 scholarships of two programs annually. Besides, there are no joint higher education courses between Vietnam and Ireland. (Giao Duc Thoi Dai, moet, Giao Duc Thoi Dai)
