Vietnam to Issue Circular on Int’l Cooperative Program of Higher Education

Vietnam’s Ministry of Education and Training will soon issue a circular on higher education courses with international cooperation, in order to boost such courses, state media reported. Currently, such courses have to follow Article 45 of the Law on Higher Education 2018 and the government’s Decree 86/2018/ND-CP. Notable terms are about accreditation and approval of courses, facilities, faculties, outcomes of learners, among others. As of July 20, 2020, Vietnam had 352 ongoing international cooperative higher education courses, including 195 for undergraduate level, 150 for master level, and seven for doctorate level. Those courses are employing 25,800 learners, including 22,700 students, 3,000 masters, and 63 postgraduates. Among those courses, 91 are linked to France, 71 are linked to the UK, 38 are linked to the U.S., 27 are linked to Australia, 20 are linked to Germany, 19 are linked to Taiwan, ten are linked to China, and eight are linked to South Korea.
