Vietnam Ministry Reviews Int’l Cooperation, 21K Foreign Learners Noted

Vietnam’s Ministry of Education and Training (MoET) has just reviewed the international cooperation activities in 2018-2019 academic year, saying 21,000 foreigners were learning in Vietnam and 6,067 Vietnamese people were learning abroad via governmental scholarships, state media reported. The MoET informed that the education-training sector currently has 455 foreign-invested (FDI) projects, among 27,353 FDI projects. The MoET added that in last academic year, its signed 21 cooperative agreements with foreigners, comprising six government-level agreements and 15 ministry-level others. This figure is higher than the total of 2017-2018 school year at 16. However, the MoET noted that such international cooperation is only developing in major cities of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, but not in rural areas, mountainous areas, nor remote areas.
