Vietnam Mobilizes $85.6B for Rural Development in 2010-2019: Office

Vietnam has mobilized a combined VND1,986.9 trillion ($85.6 billion) for the new-style rural building program in 2010-2019, according to the Central Coordination Office on New Rural Development. The figure includes VND689.8 trillion for the Red River Delta and the north-central regions, VND364.6 trillion for the central coastal and Central Highlands regions, and VND932.5 trillion for the southeastern region and Mekong Delta provinces. So far, the rate of communes recognized as new rural areas has been 69% in the Red River Delta and the north-central regions, 42.41% in the central coastal and Central Highlands regions, and 50.49% in the southeastern region and Mekong Delta provinces.
