Vietnam Must Improve Vocational Training Trainers to Boost Workforce: Experts

Vietnam must improve the human resources of the vocational training sectors, particularly trainers, in order to boost the sector and the country’s workforce, experts said at a conference in Hanoi on December 15 on breakthroughs of vocational training development in 2021-2030. General Director Truong Anh Dung of the Directorate of Vocational Educational and Training (DVET) said that the Communist Party of Vietnam sets vocational training as one of three key methods to boost the country’s workforce. Experts also listed other keys for the sector’s developments, including investment, school management, facilitates, learning contents, and others. Ms. Khuong Thi Nhan, head of the DVET’s planning-finance department, noted targets of the sector, including recruitment of 19.8 million learners in 2021-2025 with 16.62 million for beginner-level courses, the rate of employment after graduation at 85%, the rate of trained laborers at 70%; and the recruitment of 29.1 million learners in 2025-2030 with 25.4 million for beginner-level courses, the rate of employment after graduation at 90%, and the rate of trained laborers at 75%.
