Vietnam PM Approves WB, UNDP-Funded Projects

Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung approved a project for promoting natural disaster management, with $900,000 non-refundable capital granted by the Global Capacity for Disaster Reduction and Recovery (GFDRR) under the World Bank (WB). Dung also approved another project in promoting research capacity for legislation and information technology (IT) and communications for the Institute for Legislation Research under the National Assembly Standing Committee.  The second project was financed by the United Nation Development Program (UNDP) for the period of 2006-2011, with $605,000 non-refundable capital, the government said on its website. The WB provided a total of $9.83 billion in official development assistance (ODA) for 92 programs and projects in Vietnam by end-August. (chinhphu.vn Nov 29)
