Vietnam PM Okays to Build Four Hospitals in Hanoi, HCM City

Vietnam’s Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has given a nod to plans to build four new hospitals in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh Cities in a move to ease the current severe overload, according to the PM’s directive.
The information was released at a recent meeting with the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City. The hospitals will comprise the second facility of Bach Mai and Vietnam-Germany Hospitals in Hanoi and the Pediatrics and Tumor Hospitals in HCM City. The PM also agreed to offer special incentives to speed up the construction of these hospitals to put them into operation as soon as possible. On suggestions to upgrade other hospitals that are delayed due to capital lack, the PM asked the Ministries of Health, Planning and Investment, and Finance to look into the matter and report to him by Oct 2013. The two ministries of Health, and Planning and Investment have been asked to work with Japanese counterparts to finish all paper work to build Vietnam-Japan Hospital using official development aid from Japan. The aid agreement is slated to be signed in Dec when the two country’s PMs will meet in Japan. (Sai Gon Giai Phong – Saigon Liberation Sept 18)
