Vietnam PM Urges Agencies to Curb COVID-19 Transmission Speed

Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has urged agencies to curb the transmission speed of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) after many COVID-19 community infection cases have been reported recently and local authorities have yet to find F0 of these cases, state media reported. PM Phuc made the order at a meeting on fighting the COVID-19 on July 29 morning, highlighting that the disease developments have become more complicated and unpredictable than the previous situation with many community infection cases for a long time. Mr. Phuc asked local authorities across the country to increase the awareness of locals about fighting the disease and depend on the disease developments of each locality to apply the prime minister’s Directives 16 or 19, noting that the country has recorded 27 infection cases at seven localities, with Danang now becoming the country’s biggest infection cluster. For localities with COVID-19 patients, the government leader asked local authorities not to organize events of massive gatherings. He urged the health sector to trace people who had contacts with COVID-19 patients and the military forces to hold quarantine camps for Danang residents. As of July 29 morning, Vietnam recorded 446 COVID-19 patients, 369 of whom have recovered, the Ministry of Health said.
