Vietnam Province Operates Belgium-funded Water Supply Project

Vietnam’s central province of Binh Dinh has put into operation a clean water supply system with VND65 billion ($3.06 million) from the Belgian government. The facility, which costs over VND104 billion, has a daily capacity of 5,600 cubic meters and will benefit 84,000 people in seven communes in Phu Cat and Tuy Phuoc districts. The system is part of a water supply and environment sanitation project worth EUR8.95 million in Binh Dinh under a cooperation program between the two countries. The project lasts from August 2009 to July 2014 with EUR7.5 million coming from Belgium. The project aims to improve the living conditions of the locals in An Nhon town and the districts of Hoai Nhon, Phu My, Phu Cat, Tuy Phuoc and Tay Son. (vov.vn Sept 28, vietnamplus.vn Sept 27)
