Vietnam to Push STEM Education at Secondary, High Schools

Vietnam’s Ministry of Education and Training (MoET) has issued a guideline on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) education within secondary and high schools, in order to boost STEM education per new curriculum 2018 and capabilities of teachers, state media reported. The MoET’s guideline listed four steps to prepare the lessons; three formats of STEM lessons of scientific lessons, experimental activities, and researching activities; five steps of the lessons; and others. Besides, the MoET provides training documents on STEM for schools and management units to utilize. The MoET’s guideline on STEM education also facilitates the Prime Minister’s Directive 16/CT-TTg, dated May 2017, on adaptation to the Industry 4.0.
