Vietnam Records 100 Deaths due to Rabies/Year: Assoc. Prof.-Dr.

Vietnam annually records around 100 deaths due to rabies, said Assoc. Prof-Dr. Hoang Duc Hanh, deputy director of the Department of Health in Hanoi. Mr. Hanh revealed the information at a meeting in the city on September 25 to respond to the World Rabies Day 2019 [September 28]. He stressed the need to vaccinate more cats and dogs and enhance communications among the community on the danger of the disease. In the first half of this year, the country reported 46 deaths due to rabies in 24 provinces and cities with Son La recording six cases, the highest number.
