Vietnam Records 150,000 Cases, 36 Deaths due to Dengue Fever YTD: VTV

Vietnam has recorded over 150,000 dengue fever cases, including 36 deaths, since the onset of this year, the national broadcaster Vietnam Television (VTV) reported. Among the localities in the country, the southern and Central Highlands regions have recorded the highest number of cases. Assoc. Prof.-Dr. Phan Trong Lan, director of Pasteur Institute in Ho Chi Minh City, pointed out some major reasons for the complicated of the epidemic, which are locals’ low awareness of sanitation, urbanization, and climate change.
