Vietnam Records 188.5K Dengue Fever, 43.1K HFM Cases in Jan-Sep: GSO

Vietnam is estimated to have recorded 188,500 dengue fever cases (including 18 deaths) and 43,100 hand-foot-mouth cases (including two deaths) in the first nine months of this year, according to the latest figures from the government’s General Statistics Office (GSO). In January-September, the country is likely to have recorded 6,500 measles cases (including four deaths), 457 viral encephalitis cases (including 12 deaths), 22 Typhoid fever cases (including one death), and 1,628 food poisoning cases (including nine deaths). As of September 18, Vietnam had 209,800 people infected with HIV, including 96,900 people entering AIDS stage, while around 98,400 people had been killed by HIV/AIDS. (GSO, GSO)
