Vietnam Records 32K Dengue Fever Cases, 5,963 HFM Cases in H1: GSO

Vietnam will likely have recorded 32,000 dengue fever cases, including three deaths, and 5,693 hand-foot-mouth (HFM) cases in the half of this year (H1), according to the latest figures from the government’s General Statistics Office (GSO). In the period, the country is estimated to have recorded 208 measles, 240 viral encephalitis cases, including seven deaths, and 40 food poisoning cases with 1,087 patients, including 15 deaths. As of June 18, Vietnam had 210,600 people infected with HIV, including 97,175 people entering AIDS stage, while around 98,739 people had been killed by HIV/AIDS. Notably, Vietnam recorded 352 cases infected with the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) as of 12:00 a.m. on June 26, 329 of them were discharged from hospital, the GSO said. Besides, as of June 24, Vietnam’s Central Highlands province of Dak Nong confirmed 12 cases of diphtheria, including one death. (GSO, gso)
