Vietnam Records 37.8K Dengue Fever Cases, 9,243 HFM Cases in Jan-Jul: GSO

Vietnam is likely to have recorded 37,800 dengue fever cases, including three deaths, and 9,243 hand-foot-mouth (HFM) cases in the first seven months of this year, according to the latest figures from the government’s General Statistics Office (GSO). In the period, the country is estimated to have recorded 223 measles cases, 295 viral encephalitis cases, including seven deaths, and 50 food poisoning cases with 1,209 patients, including 19 deaths. As of July 18, Vietnam had 210,547 people infected with HIV, including 97,027 people entering AIDS stage, while around 98,948 people had been killed by HIV/AIDS. Notably, Vietnam recorded 420 cases infected with the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) as of 9:00 a.m. on July 27, 365 of them were discharged from hospital, the GSO said. Besides, as of July 16, Vietnam’s Central Highlands region recorded 100 cases of diphtheria, including three deaths. (GSO, gso)
