Vietnam Records 51.5K Dengue Fever, 11.4K HFM Cases in Jan-Apr: GSO

Vietnam recorded 51,500 dengue fever and 11,400 hand-foot-mouth cases in the first four months of this year, which included four deaths, according to the latest figures from the government’s General Statistics Office (GSO). In the period, the country recorded 130 viral encephalitis cases (including four deaths), seven Typhoid fever cases, and 586 food poisoning cases (including three deaths). As of April 18, Vietnam had 209,200 people infected with HIV, including 96,040 people entering AIDS stage, while around 98,260 people had been killed by HIV/AIDS. (GSO, gso.gov.vn)
