Vietnam Records 96.4K Dengue Fever, 22.9K HFM Cases in Jan-Jul: GSO

Vietnam is estimated to have recorded 96,400 dengue fever (including six deaths) and 22,900 hand-foot-mouth cases (including two deaths) in the first seven months of this year, according to the latest figures from the government’s General Statistics Office (GSO). In January-July, the country is likely to have recorded 5,600 measles cases (including three deaths), 333 viral encephalitis cases (including 11 deaths), 13 Typhoid fever cases (including one death), and 1,372 food poisoning cases (including nine deaths). As of July 18, Vietnam had 209,500 people infected with HIV, including 96,690 people entering AIDS stage, while around 98,350 people had been killed by HIV/AIDS. (GSO, GSO)
