Vietnam to Remove IT, Foreign Language Requirements for Teachers from Mar

Vietnam will officially remove the requirements on information technology (IT) and foreign language certificates for teachers from March, according to the latest circular adopted by Vietnam’s Ministry of Education and Training (MoET), state media reported. Accordingly, for the requirement on foreign languages, teachers only need to be capable of using foreign languages or ethnic minority languages in specific assigned works. For the IT requirement, teachers need to be able to apply IT in performing tasks, depending on career types. Besides, the MoET will issue the requirements on foreign languages and training program for teachers based on the national qualification framework and outcome standards of pedagogical students. Thanks to the latest decision, foreign language teachers will also meet no difficulty with the second foreign language as the previous regulations, the ministry noted.
