Vietnam Schools Asked to Publicize Employment Rate of Graduated Students

The Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training (MoET) has recently asked universities and colleges nationwide to publicize the employment rates of graduated students on the schools’ websites starting from this academic year, state media reported. According to educational experts, this is seen as a necessary requirement to increase the social responsibility of the schools with their students, thereby contribute to improve the quality and restrain the unemployment of bachelor’s degree holders. The survey must guarantee the truthfulness, objectivity, and the schools must report them to the MoET, as well as publicize them on their websites. It helps schools to adjust their targets for the next academic year. It also helps students to understand what schools are most appropriate for them. According to figures by the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs (MoLISA), 191,300 holders of bachelor or higher degrees are unemployed in the second quarter this year.
