Vietnam Seeks Further Post-War Settlement Cooperation with South Korea

Senior Lieutenant General-Deputy Minister of National Defense Nguyen Chi Vinh and newly-accredited Country Director of Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) in Vietnam Cho Han-Deog had a meeting in Hanoi on July 22 to discuss further cooperation in post-war settlement, state media reported. Mr. Vinh suggested South Korea continue helping Vietnam improve the capability in dealing with post-war bombs and mines. He also hailed the developing the bilateral ties, including defense cooperation. Mr. Vinh also hailed the cooperation since 2014, including assessment on 16,880 hectares in central Quang Binh and Binh Dinh provinces, clearance of bombs and mines in 5,194 hectares, education on bomb and mine risks for 150,000 people, and humanitarian houses for 50 families, among others.
