Vietnam will spend VND2.16 trillion ($108.7 million) on supporting sustainable jobs for at least 100,000 poor and near-poor workers by 2025, said a representative of the Department of Employment, under the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs.

The official gave the information at a conference on the 2021-2025 national target program for sustainable poverty reduction, held in Hanoi on November 14.

Of the total budget, VND1.95 trillion will come from the state budget, VND550 billion from the local budget, and the remaining VND110 billion from other sources.

By 2025, the ministry aims to provide all people of poor and near-poor households with occupational advisories and orientation and job search.

Those who get jobs with contracts will receive a maximum benefit of VND400,000 each. (Thanh Nien, Dan Tri, Bao Dan Toc)
