Vietnam Ties up with NGO MAG to Address Post-war Bombs, Mines

On October 7, the Vietnam National Mine Action Centre (VNMAC) and the non-governmental organization (NGO) Landmine Advisory Group Vietnam (MAG Vietnam) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cooperation in building and enhancing the capacity of tackling post-war bombs, mines, and unexploded ordnance in Vietnam, local media said. According to the MoU, MAG will share technical expertise with VNMAC through training, developing management system, and organizing field visits. MAG is a humanitarian NGO clearing explosive remnants of war in current and former conflict zones. In Vietnam, MAG began its activities in central Quang Tri province in 1999.
