Vietnam, UK-based NGO Join Hands to Care for Disadvantaged Children

On March 23, Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Labor, War Invalids, and Social Affairs Nguyen Thi Ha worked with CEO of the UK-based international non-governmental organization (NGO) Care for Children (CFC) Robert Glover OBE in the fields of supporting disadvantaged children in the country through an alternative caring model.

During the talks, Deputy Minister Ha expected both sides to continue implementing the program to help more orphans, particularly those impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Highlighting the importance of the alternative caring model for children, Ms. Ha proposed CFC support in raising public awareness of this new model, enhancing staff capabilities, taking care of orphans, going on a pilot model transferring from center to home care, and looking for an alternative family for abandoned children.

For his part, Dr. Robert Glover lauded the model’s achievements in Vietnam and hoped the two sides would work closely together to assist children in need of alternative care from the institution to their families in the community. (Bao Dan Sinh)
