Vietnam, UK Seek to Improve Genetic Studies to Combat COVID-19

Vietnam and the UK have discussed measures to improve their genetic study capabilities in a bid to deal with the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) at a conference in Hanoi on March 24. The UK Embassy in Vietnam held the event amid the rising new coronavirus variants. The event witnessed the participation of representatives from Oxford University Clinical Research Unit (OUCRU) in Vietnam, the U.S. Center of Disease Control (CDC), and some local health facilities across the country. Participants highlighted the role of Vietnam in sharing data about SARS-CoV-2 genetic sequencing and international cooperation in coping with the pandemic and some other diseases.
