Vietnam University Grants Scientific Prizes for 3 Foreign Scientists

Vietnam’s Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) on December 27 awarded scientific prizes to three foreign scientists for their outstanding achievements and research, which have been contributing to the development of science, technology, and society, local media reported. Prof. Timon Rabczuk, a German scientist, was presented $5,000- Lifetime Achievement Award, Prof. Anderson Ho Cheung Shum from Hong Kong received the Rising Star Award worth $4,000, and Turkish Prof. Sibel Aysil Ozkan won the Women in Science Award. Accepting submissions from August 15, 2018 to May 30 this year, the TDTU Prize 2019 received 90 applications from famous scientists in 23 countries around the world. The TDTU Prize was initiated by TDTU in 2016 and the first edition was awarded one year later, with efforts to quickly raising the country’s educational, scientific and technological activities to the global level.
