Vietnam Wins Four Prizes in International Technology, Science Contest

A delegation of Vietnamese student attended the International Science and Technology Competition 2016 – Intel ISEF 2016 have brought home four third prizes, according to from Ministry of Education and Training. The prizes were awarded for their projects in chemistry, environmental engineering, mechanical engineering, and biology cell and molecular. The projects include works on “Research and synthesize some complexes have abilities to inhibit cancer cell from basil oil and platinum”, “Research phytolith in straw to fix some heavy metals and reduce CO2 emissions from the soil”, “Moving equipment use for the elderly and disabled people”, and “Research the possibility of mounting and destroying some cancer cells of human antibodies.” The contest was held on May 8-13 in Phoenix, United States. 1,776 candidates came from 77 countries and territories with a total of 1,374 projects. Vietnam is among 40 countries and territories with winning projects of the contest, a total of 77 countries- regions attended Intel ISEF 2016. Vietnam officially participated of Intel ISEF form 2012 so far and had winning projects. (vtv.vn May 16)
