Vietnam Wins Three Gold Medals at 2015 Asian-Pacific Informatics Olympiad

Six Vietnamese students have won three gold medals, two silver medals and a bronze medal at the Asian Pacific Informatics, The Thanh Nien Newspaper quoted the Ministry of Education and Training on May 20. Among the medalists, five are from the HUS High School for Gifted Students. The three students who won gold medals are two seniors Nguyen Tien Trung Kien, Nguyen Viet Dung, and a junior Phan Duc Nhat Minh. All of them are among the eighteen examinees to receive full marks – 300 points. In addition, the other two seniors from the same school Pham Van Hanh and Do Ngoc Khanh both received the silver medals. Vu Hoang Phuc, senior from Hanoi University of Education’s High School for Gifted Students received the bronze medal. The Vietnamese team ranked third this year and had the highest result in three years since 2013. This year the Asian Pacific Informatics Olympiad attracted 598 contestants from 27 countries.
