Vietnamese Voters Propose Education Ministry Control Tutoring/Extra Classes

Regarding the rising of tutoring and extra classes inside and outside schools in many forms, voters of Vietnam’s northern province of Ha Nam have proposed the Ministry of Education and Training (MoET) limit and control the issue, the local newswire VietnamNet reported. Voters said that the situation has continued happening, notably in urban areas, despite the MoET-issued regulations on tutoring and extra classes. They asked the ministry to strictly handle the issue as well as the achievement obsession in education. For the issue, the MoET asked nationwide education facilities to simplify teaching contents and guide students to self-study with textbooks, besides asking teachers to avoid emphasizing the examination for students. The ministry will collect the opinions of voters on the issue and continue working with localities to control, inspect, and strictly punish violators in tutoring and extra classes.
