World Vision International Pledges $2.26M for Vietnam Northern Province in 2017

The World Vision International (WVI), a Christian relief, development and advocacy humanitarian organization, will provide an additional $2.26 million for existing programs and projects in Vietnam’s northern mountainous province of Yen Bai in 2017. The pledge was made by WVI Vietnam National Director Tran Thu Huyen during a working session with Yen Bai authorities on April 5. The aid will provide additional help to projects on education, health, and livelihood capacity improvement in the locality with a special care to vulnerable children, especially those in remote and disadvantaged areas. Yen Bai province has formed cooperation with the WVI since 2003. At present, the WVI is sponsoring eight programs and projects in the province, with total committed capital of VND378 billion ($16.6 million), making up 96% of pledged aid from non-governmental organizations for the province.
