Welcome to the VUFO-NGO Resource Centre Newsletter for December 15th - 31st, 2015.
Please join us in congratulating Ms. Huyen Thu Tran, National Director at World Vision Vietnam, on her election as the new member of the VUFO-NGO Resource Centre's Steering Committee.

We would also like to extend our best wishes to Dr. Michael R. DiGregorio, Country Representative at the Asia Foundation’s Vietnam, who has recently been appointed as the new INGO representative at the Vietnam Development Partnership Forum (VDPF).

  • Climate Change Working Group meeting, on Thursday, December 3rd at 14:00.

The meeting will be at the SNV's office: 3rd floor, Building D, La Thanh Hotel, 218 Doi Can, Ba Dinh, Hanoi.

Vietnam PM to Attend Climate Change Conference in Paris

Vietnam’s Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung will participate in the 21st Conference of the Parties (COP 21) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change in Paris from November 30 to December 1 at the invitation of French President Francois Hollande. The Prime Minister is also visiting Belgium and the European Union on December 2 as guest of his Belgian counterpart Charles Michel and European Commission President Jean-Claude Junker. The visits are expected to beef up the cooperation between Vietnam and the European partners. Vietnam and the 28-member EU established diplomatic relations in 1990. The country also set up strategic partnership with six EU members, namely the UK, Germany, Spain, the Netherlands, France and Italy. (Vietnamplus.vn Nov 25)

World Vision Vietnam would like to inform that Ms. Tran Thu Huyen has been appointed as WVV National Director effectively from September 4, 2015. Ms. Huyen has joimed WV Vietnam since 1994 and has held various leadership positions and also acted as the Officer-in-Charge from time to time whenever the national director was away. "Last chance to save the climate - The Climate Negotiation at COP 21 and voices from Vietnam“ title of dialogue on climate change was held by the Climate Change Working Group (CCWG) in cooperation with German Feidrich-Ebert Foundation, on the afternoon of September 17th, at the French Cultural Centre L’Espace, Hanoi. This dialogue was hosted by Institut Francaise de Hanoi, French Embassy.
