We hope that everybody had a nice Tet break and started a new year fully energized. Welcome to the VUFO-NGO Resource Centre Newsletter for 1 - 15 February, 2012.

There are five Working Groups meetings scheduled in February: the Ethnic Minorities Working Group on 7 February at 09:00; the Child Rights Working Group on 10 February at 13:300; the Landmines Working Group on 16 February at 14:00; the Sustainable Agriculture and Natural Resources Management Working Group on 17 February at 09:00; and the Disaster Management Working Group on 17 February at 14:00. All meetings will take place at the VUFO-NGO Resource Centre. Please check the 'Calendar of Events' section on our home page for the latest updates and possible changes.

Dear Members and Friends:

We wish you Happy New Lunar Year of the Dragon which will start on 23 January 2012. We would like to inform you that the VUFO-NGO Resource Centre will be closed during Tet holidays from Monday 23 January until Friday 27 January. We will reopen on Monday 30 January 2012.

Please note that during the week 16 - 20 January 2012 our office will have limited working hours due to reduced number of staff and several events scheduled outside the office. Our members and partners should call and make prior appointments before visiting.

A holiday season is fast approaching and we would like to extend our best wishes to you and your families! We look forward to continuing our collaboration with the INGO members and all partners in 2012. Enjoy the holidays, for those taking a holiday break, and we wish you a healthy, successful and joyful new 2012. The VUFO-NGO Resource Centre office will be closed on Monday 26 December 2011 and on Monday 2 January 2012.

Welcome to the VUFO-NGO Resource Centre's Newsletter for the first half of December 2011!

We would like to inform you that Medecins du Monde France will close their mission in Vietnam by the end of December 2011 after many productive years in Vietnam. They have completed their last project phase in September; and as of November 2011 their activities will be handed over to local partners in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. We wish to extend our warmest farewell to all staff of Medecins du Monde France.

Welcome to the VUFO-NGO Resource Centre's Newsletter for the first half of November 2011!

Following the INGO Forum last week, the INGO community elected two INGO representative to the Consultative Group (CG) meeting in Vietnam: Ms Dung Le Kim, Associate Country Director of Oxfam Great Britain, who was elected for the first time; and Mr Peter Newsum, Country Director of Care International, who was re-elected for his second term in this role. As a reminder, two other CG representatives are Ms Kim N. B. Ninh from the Asia Foundation and Ms Thao Griffiths from the Vietnam Veterans of America Foundation.

Welcome to the VUFO-NGO Resource Centre's Newsletter for the second half of October!

We invite our member organizations to join the INGO Forum that will be organized on Friday 28 October from 14:00h to 16:30h at the VUFO-NGO Resource Centre. Don Tuan Phong and Nguyen Ngoc Hung from PACCOM will co-facilitate discussion about the new regulations for visas and work permits of expatriate INGO staff in Vietnam. We will also talk about INGOs inputs for the upcoming Year-End Consultative Group meeting in December.
