NEWSLETTER 1 - 15 September 2011

Dear Members and Friends:

Welcome to the VUFO-NGO Resource Centre's Newsletter covering the first half of September 2011. Please accept our apologies for a delayed release of this issue caused by the vacation period and a reduced team.

PACCOM has released an official letter, informing us that Ms Tran Thi Thu Thuy, Deputy Director General of PACCOM has moved to the VUFO Representative Office in Ho Chi Minh City. Mr Nguyen Ngoc Hung, Deputy Director General of PACCOM has been appointed as a new Co-Director for the VUFO-NGO Resource Centre as of the 1st of July 2011. We would like to thank Thuy for all her support during the past two years and we wish her all the best in Ho Chi Minh City. We look forward to continuing our close collaboration with Hung.

Director  and remain Plan in Viet Nam Program Director. Mr. Glenn Gibney has been appointed as new Country Director for Plan in Viet Nam Office and he can be contacted at [email protected]

NEWSLETTER 1-15 August 2011

Dear Members and Friends:

Welcome to the VUFO-NGO Resource Centre Newsletter for 1 - 15 August, 2011.

A preliminary meeting for revival of the Sustainable Agriculture and Natural Resources Management Working Group (SANRM) is scheduled for August 5 at 9:00 AM at the VUFO-NGO Resource Centre. At the meeting a Core Group and chairpersons will be elected; and the group will discuss future collaboration between NGOs and other partners.

There are three working group meetings in August: Climate Change Working Group met on August 4 at 14:00; Child Rights Working Group will meet on August 9 at 14:00; Disaster Management Working Group will meet on August 19 at 14:00. All meetings  will take place at the NGO Resource Centre.

Rutgers WPF would like to annouce that Mr Jerry Clewett left his post as Country Representative of Rutgers WPF Vietnam at the end of June 2011. Ms Tran Thi Kim Ly has been appointed as new Country Representative for Rutgers WPF Vietnam Office since Jully 2011 and she can be contacted at [email protected]

There are three working group meetings in July:  Ethnic Minorities Working Group will meet on July 21 at 14:00; Capacity Development Working Group will meet on July 27 at 10:00 HCMC Child Rights Working Group will meet on July 28 at 09:00. All meetings except for the last one will take place at the NGO Resource Centre.

The Australian Foundation for the Peoples of Asia and the Pacific (AFAP) has recently relocated its Vietnam Representative Office to the following address: 30 Lane 12, Dang Thai Mai, Tay Ho, Hanoi, Vietnam. The contact email, telephone and fax numbers remain unchanged.

Welcome to the VUFO-NGO Resource Centre Newsletter for 15 – 30 May, 2011.

We have the pleasure to announce the next INGO Forum for our members, which will take place on Friday 20 May from 14:00 to 16:30 hours. The VUFO-NGO Resource Centre has available for its members 100 copies of a new directory of Vietnamese NGOs, Danh Tap Mot So To Chuc Hoi Lien Hiep Hoi va Phi Chinh Phu Viet Nam, published by The Asia Foundation and the Institute for Social Studies (Vien Nghien Cuu Xa Hoi). The directory is in Vietnamese.
