Welcome to the VUFO-NGO Resource Centre's Newsletter for the first half of November 2011!

Following the INGO Forum last week, the INGO community elected two INGO representative to the Consultative Group (CG) meeting in Vietnam: Ms Dung Le Kim, Associate Country Director of Oxfam Great Britain, who was elected for the first time; and Mr Peter Newsum, Country Director of Care International, who was re-elected for his second term in this role. As a reminder, two other CG representatives are Ms Kim N. B. Ninh from the Asia Foundation and Ms Thao Griffiths from the Vietnam Veterans of America Foundation.

Welcome to the VUFO-NGO Resource Centre's Newsletter for the second half of October!

We invite our member organizations to join the INGO Forum that will be organized on Friday 28 October from 14:00h to 16:30h at the VUFO-NGO Resource Centre. Don Tuan Phong and Nguyen Ngoc Hung from PACCOM will co-facilitate discussion about the new regulations for visas and work permits of expatriate INGO staff in Vietnam. We will also talk about INGOs inputs for the upcoming Year-End Consultative Group meeting in December.

WE expect three working group meetings to take place during this period: Climate Change Working Group on October 6 at 14:00; Landmines Working Group on October 14 at 09:00; Disaster Management Working Group on October 21 at 14:00. All planned meetings should take place at the VUFO-NGO Resource Centre. However, please check the 'Calendar of Events' section on our home page for the latest updates and unexpected changes.

Dear Members and Friends:

Welcome to the VUFO-NGO Resource Centre's Newsletter covering the first half of September 2011. Please accept our apologies for a delayed release of this issue caused by the vacation period and a reduced team.

PACCOM has released an official letter, informing us that Ms Tran Thi Thu Thuy, Deputy Director General of PACCOM has moved to the VUFO Representative Office in Ho Chi Minh City. Mr Nguyen Ngoc Hung, Deputy Director General of PACCOM has been appointed as a new Co-Director for the VUFO-NGO Resource Centre as of the 1st of July 2011. We would like to thank Thuy for all her support during the past two years and we wish her all the best in Ho Chi Minh City. We look forward to continuing our close collaboration with Hung.

Dear Members and Friends:

Welcome to the VUFO-NGO Resource Centre Newsletter for 1 - 15 August, 2011.

A preliminary meeting for revival of the Sustainable Agriculture and Natural Resources Management Working Group (SANRM) is scheduled for August 5 at 9:00 AM at the VUFO-NGO Resource Centre. At the meeting a Core Group and chairpersons will be elected; and the group will discuss future collaboration between NGOs and other partners.

There are three working group meetings in August: Climate Change Working Group met on August 4 at 14:00; Child Rights Working Group will meet on August 9 at 14:00; Disaster Management Working Group will meet on August 19 at 14:00. All meetings  will take place at the NGO Resource Centre.

Rutgers WPF would like to annouce that Mr Jerry Clewett left his post as Country Representative of Rutgers WPF Vietnam at the end of June 2011. Ms Tran Thi Kim Ly has been appointed as new Country Representative for Rutgers WPF Vietnam Office since Jully 2011 and she can be contacted at [email protected]

There are three working group meetings in July:  Ethnic Minorities Working Group will meet on July 21 at 14:00; Capacity Development Working Group will meet on July 27 at 10:00 HCMC Child Rights Working Group will meet on July 28 at 09:00. All meetings except for the last one will take place at the NGO Resource Centre.
