Chinese Society for Environmental Sciences (CSES) and International Lake Environmental Committee Foundation (ILEC) are delighted to invite you to
the 13th World Lake Conference to be held in Wuhan city, People's Republic of China, from November 1-5, 2009.

In the World Lake Conference, government official decision makers, practitioners, academia and scientists, business, civil society including children discuss and tackle the lake/wetland issues in order to find solutions.  Also, the Conference encourages proactive interaction among participants beyond generation and expertise fields.

Many lakes/wetlands have been suffered from environmental contamination and water resource overexploitation, as well as the influence of global
climate change.  The ecological function and biodiversity in lakes/wetlands are damaged, and some of them are facing the threat of extinction.  In 13th WORLD LAKE CONFERENCE, the following topics will be dealt with in sessions:

Topic 1: Impact of Global Warming and Research on the Latest Challenges and Strategies in the Management of Lake Environment
Topic 2: Strategy, Policy and Legislations on Management of Water Environment of Lake Basins
Topic 3: Water Pollution Mechanisms, Pollution Monitoring and Management, and Technical measures
Topic 4: Comprehensive Lake Basin Management and Protection of Lake Ecology
Topic 5: Culture of Sustainable Utilization of Lake and Public Participation
 Topic 6: Study on Control Chinese Lake Pollution
