PROJECT ASSISTANT – HIV and AIDS Project
Based in Ho Chi Minh

Save the Children is looking for a qualified Vietnamese national for the position of Project Assistant for the project “empowerment of migrant and HIV affected children, their families and caregivers to effectively participate in local policy development and implementation processes”. The successful candidate will be joining the project team based in Ho Chi Minh City. Save the Children offers a 2 year contract, with possible extension.

Job Purpose
The Project Assistant is responsible to support child focused HIV project team to ensure the effective high quality implementation of project activities and tasks assigned to attain stated objectives in project’s sites particularly in Ca mau province and HCMC. The post holder will be supported by other team members and partners to develop innovative and creative strategies to strengthen the participation of children in all aspects of our work.

Key Competencies
- Vietnamese national / University degree in relevant field
- At least 2 years experience in development projects
- Understanding and awareness of HIV and AIDS, children’s issues and child protection policies.
- Knowledge and experience of non-governmental organisations (NGOs)
- Capacity to work effectively in a team and as an individual
- Ability and willingness to travel for extended periods in remote and difficult areas
- Capacity to work effectively in a team as well as individually
- Good report writing skills
- Advanced spoken and written English
- Good computer skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Email
