The NGO RC and a number of NGOs continue the efforts to broaden the participation of INGOs and Vietnamese NGOs in the climate change debate and enable NGOs to share their current engagement and future interest in addressing climate change, as a follow up to an initial Climate Change meeting held at the NGO RC in December 2007. The first draft Poverty Reduction Support Credit (PRSC) 7 has been sent to the Government of Vietnam. The Poverty Reduction Support Credit (PRSC) is the main aid instrument for providing direct budget support to the government to finance the SEDP, based on annual policy actions approved by the government. The policy dialogue on the draft policy actions included in PRSC 7 takes place between donors, led by the World Bank, and government agencies through two rounds of technical meetings, the meetings are open to NGO participation. The first round of technical meetings will take place during the last two weeks of January. There are four working group meetings coming up in the next few weeks: the HCM City INGO Discussion Group meeting will be held on January 10 from 8:00 – 12:00 at the HUFO office; the Disability Working Group will be held on January 10 from 14:00 – 16:00 at the NGO RC; the HIV/AIDS Working Group will be held on January 16 from 14:00 – 16:00 at Youth Union Guest House, 15B Ho Xuan Huong Street, Hanoi; and the Water Supply and Sanitation Working Group will be held on January 18 from 14:00 – 16:00, at the NGO RC.
