Subject: [Ict4devwg] Announcement: AITVN's Training Courses on "Translation Skills" and "Business Writing Skills"

 

Dear Sir/Madam,

Asian Institute of Technology in Vietnam (AITVN) is pleased to announce the opening of the two courses: Translation Skills (from 22 to 26 July) and Business Writing Skills (from 14 to 16 August)  at AITVN Hanoi.

    
The main objectives of these mentioned courses are as followed:

 

Translation Skills:

The objective of the workshop is to examine current translation theory to identify strategies for translating documents from English to Vietnamese and vice versa. The course is workshop format and includes activities such as presentation of current theory and its practical application, discussion of common translating problems, practice translations and critique of participants work.

 

Business Writing Skills:

By the end of this 3-day course, participants should be able to:

*	Develop their understanding of key differences between business letters, e-mails, memos and faxes;
*	Develop their understanding of the conventions of format and style relating to each type of document;
*	Enhance their knowledge and ability to use a range of standard phrases and expressions commonly utilized in business writing;
*	Develop better understanding of and ability to apply key writing processes in the production of business writings;
*	Be fluent in vital skills including planning, organising, writing, editing and reviewing of writings with the reader in mind;
