Dear Sir/Madam,

Asian Institute of Technology in Vietnam (AITVN) is pleased to announce the
opening of the course on Interpreting Skills for Professional Interpreters
from 24 to 29 June at AITVN Hanoi.

    
The main objectives of the course are as followed:

  

After the course, participants will improve their listening, speaking and
interpreting skills through:

*	understanding the role of the interpreter;
*	adapting clarification techniques, including paraphrasing,
summarizing and asking specific questions;
*	discriminating between different registers and contexts;
*	dealing with cross-cultural nuances;
*	explaining words and concepts without Vietnamese equivalents;
*	developing skills for dealing with specific problems such as
ambiguities, jokes, idioms and analogies;
*	understanding nonverbal communication; and
*	developing voice.
