[Capacity Development] Letter from Vietnam veteran to NGO Room to Read, about taking money from Monsanto

Paul Cox is a fellow Vietnam vet, member of the San Francisco chapter of
Veterans For Peace, a deeply concerned American who has been very active in
seeking justice for American veterans and Vietnamese who have had their
lives ravaged by the consequences of Agent Orange.  The toxic chemical
which has poisoned millions was made by Monsanto, Dow Chemical, and other
American companies which are now trying to gain a foothold in Vietnam
again.  Monsanto has offered "agricultural scholarships" to Vietnamese
students in a thinly disguised promotion of their GMO (genetically mutated)
seeds in Vietnam. Paul's letter, below, to the organization Room to Read,
should be thoughtfully considered by all veterans and their families, every
concerned citizen in America and Vietnam, and government leaders in both
countries.  CS

Paul Cox là một cựu binh từng tham gia chiến tranh ở Việt nam, là thành
viên của tổ chức Cựu chiến binh vì hòa bình tại San Francisco, một người Mỹ
mang trong mình một mối quan ngại rất lớn và người hoạt động rất tích cực
trong việc tìm lại công lý cho các cựu binh Mỹ và những nạn nhân Việt nam
đã và đang chịu đựng sự tàn phá ghê ghớm của Chất độc da cam. Chất hóa học
cực độc được sản xuất bởi công ty Monsanto, Dow và một số công ty khác,
những công ty này lại đang cố gắng quay trở lại Việt nam. Công ty Monsanto
cũng đã cung cấp “học bổng nông nghiệp” cho sinh viên Việt nam một cách lừa
đảo nhằm xúc tiến cho sản phẩm hạt giống biến đổi gen của mình ở Việt nam.
Lá thư dưới đây của Paul gửi đến tổ chức Room to Read, cần phải được biết
đến một cách rộng rãi bởi tất cả các cựu chiến binh và gia đình họ, bất kỳ
một công dân yêu hòa bình nào, những người đứng đầu ở cả hai nước Mỹ và
Việt nam. CS
