Dear members of CEWG,

Allow us to take this opportunity to invite you to the subjected meetings in July 2015. As you know, Alive & Thrive (A&T), a project under FHI360, has been partnering with the Viet Nam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL) to implement a workplace lactation support program since 2011. Up to date, more than 70 workplaces, including government agencies, banks, service providers, and manufactures, set up and operate lactation rooms where female staffs can have rest and express their breastmilk for their young children during working hours. This is one of the interventions to improve optimal breastfeeding among female employees in Viet Nam with the involvement and supports from employers.

The meetings will be a forum for involved parties to share their experiences and lessons learned from the implementation process of this program, from perspectives of policy makers, business owners, and beneficiaries. As the Ministry of Labors, War Invalids and Social Affairs is developing a Decree that guides the implementation of Labor Code's regulations related to female employees, there will be a policy dialog during the meetings, on the feasibility of setting up lactation room in workplaces, as required by this Drafted Decree.

Last but not lease, A&T, VGCL, and VCCI will take this opportunity to acknowledge the companies and organizations who demonstrate their strong commitment to successfully implement maternity policies and this program over 3 years, as well as call other companies and organizations to replicate the model to support their current workforce, in order to have stronger future workforce at a low-cost but high-effective investment.

Please find attached the invitations to Ha Noi and HCMC meetings (lunch provided):
